The AHIC Nominating Committee is developing a slate of candidates to serve a three-year term beginning in January 2025. This is your opportunity to deepen your engagement and support AHIC’s mission to advance equity investing in affordable housing.
What Does a Governor Do?
Serving on AHIC’s Board of Governors is a leadership role that helps guide the long-term vision and impact of the organization. Our Governors:

Set the strategic direction of AHIC and ensuring alignment with its mission

Provide fiduciary oversight, including review and approval of financial policies and budgets

Shape the organization's programs, policies, and priorities to serve investor needs
-
Strengthen AHIC’s role as a thought leader and convener in the LIHTC space
In addition, Governors approve new members and committee chairs, elect officers and help steward the organization’s reputation and sustainability. They serve as ambassadors for AHIC and help ensure its continued relevance and impact in the affordable housing industry.
Time Commitment and Expectations

Board Meetings: Two in-person meetings per year (typically held before AHIC’s Spring and Fall membership meetings)

Virtual Engagement: Additional meetings or votes may occur by phone or email throughout the year

Membership Meeting Attendance: Governors are expected to attend AHIC’s Spring and Fall membership meetings

Participation: Governors may be asked to serve on or liaise with a working committee
Governors must be employees of AHIC Investor Member organizations and be designated as Investor Representatives.
