KIM DUTY
Kimberly Duty is a seasoned housing policy expert with 30 years of experience in member organizations. She spent 25 years at the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), where she served as the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Industry Initiatives for 13 years. In this role, she led the organization's overall communications strategy and oversaw the teams responsible for public affairs, public relations, and NMHC's industry innovation program. She also created and led NMHC's Emerging Leaders program, which is now recognized as one of the most impactful next-generation leadership programs in commercial real estate.
Before joining NMHC, Kim served as Assistant Director of the National Association of Home Builders' Multifamily Council, where she managed the Council's legislative and regulatory issues, member programming, and communications. Prior to her time at NAHB, Kim served as Director of Membership for a local chamber of commerce and worked at the Berlin (Germany) Public Affairs Office.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from The College of William & Mary (Phi Beta Kappa) and a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University. She is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and a past president of the Denver Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) chapter.
Kim and her husband live in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, with their dog Leo. An animal welfare advocate, she is the founding President of the Board of Angelitos Sanctuario, a dog and donkey rescue.
