Now Recruiting: Four New Members for AHIC's Emerging Leaders Advisory Group
Help Shape AHIC's Emerging Leaders Program
AHIC's Emerging Leaders Advisory Group launched in June 2025 to guide the return of our Emerging Leaders Program — a program originally started in 2019 to cultivate future leaders in affordable housing investment, paused during the pandemic, and rebuilt with input from today's next-generation professionals. The group's first cohort shaped the program's structure, content, and format, and helped launch its first programming in early 2026.
Now, as part of our planned annual rotation, four Advisory Group seats are opening for terms beginning January 2027 — and we're looking for four new Emerging Leaders to join.
What is the Advisory Group?
The Advisory Group isn't "the program" itself — it's the team that helps guide it. Members work alongside AHIC leadership to:
- Advise on programming content, format, and topics
- Identify and help remove barriers to participation
- Serve as ambassadors for the program within their networks
- Help assess what's working and where the program should evolve
Time Commitment
The group meets virtually on a regular basis, with cadence shaped by the group itself based on what needs to get done. It's a modest, flexible commitment designed to fit around a full-time job.
Term
New members will serve three-year terms beginning January 2027, joining a group that rotates four members on and four off each year to balance fresh perspective with continuity.
Who Should Apply?
We're looking for candidates who:
- Work for an AHIC investor-member firm
- Are categorized as Investor Representatives (i.e., not in a sales or capital-raising role)
- Have seven or fewer years of experience in LIHTC equity investing
To keep the group balanced, we're also weighing:
- No more than one person per organization
- A mix of roles — underwriting, asset management, relationship management, and others
- A mix of large and small firms
- Representation across different types of investors
How to Apply
Interested candidates should complete this form by September 11, sharing:
- Professional background
- Why you're interested in serving on the Advisory Group
- The perspective or experience you'd bring
- Your vision for where the Emerging Leaders Program should go next
