We hope you enjoyed our sunny and jam-packed Spring Meeting in Tampa and are planning to attend AHIC's Summer Meeting in San Francisco on June 11th -12th.

The event opens on Tuesday, June 11th at 4 pm with a joint meeting with state leaders attending the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) Housing Credit Connect Conference. Our sessions with the HFAs are an exciting way to continue to strengthen relationships and share ideas with our allocating agency partners.

We then head to an AHIC Welcome Reception atop the iconic Transamerica Pyramid to catch up with old friends and network to make new ones.

Wednesday has a terrific line-up of sessions and peer–to–peer learning opportunities:

    • We start off by exploring best practices in due diligence with the panel “How Strong is Your Partner: Analyzing Syndicator and Guarantor Financials.” How do you read the reality of assets and liabilities behind the numbers? What are the key metrics we should be focused on in our reviews, whether they are conducted internally or by outside firms?
    • Then we take a fascinating dive into construction and other property-level physical plant issues with the session, “Good Bones: Managing the Real Estate Side of the LIHTC Equation.” How are climate change and macroeconomic factors affecting the construction process? Where do third party firms fit in? When push comes to shove, what’s the dynamic between construction lenders/investors/syndicators/developers? What expertise and oversight do you need to protect your investments, and what important lessons have leaders in the field learned from their mistakes?
    • And finally, bring your questions and insights to our Investor-Only Open Forum for a free-wheeling conversation on today’s market. Topics from Tampa included Opportunity Zones, income-averaging, BEAT, and CRA/non-CRA spreads. What’s on your mind now?

Following lunch, which includes Committee Meetings and Affinity Groups on Dispositions, Income-Averaging, and Networking, we will adjourn in time for the NCSHA plenary.

This year we are sharing NCSHA’s conference hotel, The San Francisco Marriott Marquis. The deadline for discounted registration and hotel rates is May 13th. Book your hotel as soon as possible, as it is likely to sell out.

If you have any questions, please contact AHIC's Administrator, Briana Kovar, at 571-293-0998 or info@ahic.org. We look forward to seeing you in San Francisco for an engaging and lively time together.
