Why Join AHIC?
AHIC is the only organization that exclusively represents investors in affordable housing. Our members enjoy these benefits:
Conferences to Share Industry Developments Affecting Investors
AHIC has three meetings a year which focus on current concerns of investors in acquiring new investments, underwriting properties, determining the impact of proposed and enacted legislative changes and managing their portfolios. Attendees participate in in-depth discussions led by legal, accounting, regulatory and real estate experts on matters that could affect the value and performance of their affordable housing portfolios.
Members-Only Informational Resources
AHIC provides members periodic updates on policy developments, trends in the housing credit market, and opportunities to provide input on how AHIC should tackle issues and challenges facing the industry. A members-only LinkedIn Group also provides a forum for sharing resources and networking.
Involvement in Creating Resources for the Industry
Our members can join committees that develop AHIC-approved best practices on topics raised by the membership. Committees allow members to engage in in-depth discussions of issues, practices, and processes that are specific to their interests.
Networking Opportunities
During meetings and through their participation on committees, members create networks they can access for insights on challenges they are tackling in their work. Investors new to the field benefit from personal contact with experienced housing credit investors. All new members are assigned Ambassadors, experienced AHIC investor members who will help make your engagement with us productive and can serve as resources for information on the field.
Ability to Contribute as the Voice of the Investor
AHIC is considered the voice of the investors by the state agencies that administer the credit and engages in frequent dialogue with them. Policy-makers and administration officials in Washington also tap AHIC about the impact of proposed program changes.
